About us
Martyn Williamson
Martyn is currently a Senior Lecturer at Dunedin Medical School. He is also an experienced rural GP and a fellow of the RNZCGP (GP college). He recently gained board certification as a Lifestyle Medical practitioner recognized by the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, and the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine. This reflects his long-standing interest in healthy living and his passion for curing or reversing chronic diseases common in the Western world. Martyn’s major interest in this field relates to nutrition and it’s potential to reverse, cure and prevent disease. He has given educational talks to community groups, fellow doctors and presented on this topic at the RNZCGP national conference 2017 and 2018. He is a qualified life coach and NLP coach. He is committed to living a life of love, fun and adventure with his wife Liz plus helping others on their life journey. He has completed the e-Cornell plant-based nutrition certification.
Liz Williamson
Liz is a dental practitioner, working in rural practice. She has recently gained board certification as a lifestyle medicine professional. She is also trained in life coaching and hypnotherapy. She has had a lifelong passion for healthy living and assisting others to achieve their life’s aims. Liz has also completed the
e-Cornell plant-based nutrition course, the Rouxbe plant based cooking course, and regularly attends conferences on plant based nutrition and health. She works with her husband Martyn, giving talks on plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine and is engaged in ongoing professional development in this area. Together they were awarded NZ Plant Based Practitioners of the year in 2019.
Liz and Martyn’s personal interests are cycling, tramping, trail running and fitness in general. Liz also has an interest in Yoga. They have 3 adult children and 1 grandchild who like to live life large and with whom Liz and Martyn try to keep up ! In this current COVID environment they have enjoyed cycle touring and tramping together in some of NZ’s wonderful countryside.
